A Superb Collection of Sharpe Firsts, All Signed, All Fine.
The collection is comprised of 25 volumes: the 21 novels, all hardcover UK first editions, in fine or very fine condition, in unclipped jackets, each signed by the author, without inscriptions. The other four items (also signed by Cornwell) are comprised of the 3 paperback originals (novellas/essays) published by the Sharpe Appreciation Society, and Mark Adkin's "The Sharpe Companion".
All in all, a great set of books, collected with an eye to condition and detail, with even the rarities such as "Sword", "Honour" and "Enemy" included in first printings.
Overseas postage for this collection of 25 books is approximately $225 US for surface/$300 US for air.

A varied selection of fine literature, including some modern classics in early dustjackets. Highlights include: the rare first issue of John Fowles' first novel "The Collector"; Evelyn Waugh's first novel, "Decline and Fall" in jacket; Isherwood's "Goodbye to Berlin" in the Hogarth edition; Frederick Manning's WWI classic "The Middle Parts of Fortune" in limited edition; a rare early John D. Macdonald crime novel in the first hardcover edition; a first edition of Bartolini's little classic, "The Bicycle Thieves"; the Cuban Alejo Carpentier's major work, "The Lost Steps"; Kim Stanley Robinson's "Mars Trilogy", a nice set of the UK firsts; a first edition of John Wyndham's first novel; a handful each of Jack Londons and Rafael Sabatinis in early jackets; as well as some Tolstoys in 19th and early 20th Century cloth.

Highlights include some first editions of books made into acclaimed films: W.R.Burnett's "The Asphalt Jungle", Davis Grubb's "The Night of the Hunter", Jim Thompson's "The Getaway", and Kenneth Fearing's "The Big Clock", as well as a good copy of the true (UK) first of Chandler's "The Little Sister", a nicely inscribed copy of Martin Cruz Smith's first novel, and some British firsts of Patricia Wentworth's "Miss Silver" novels in nice vintage jackets, as well as two interesting issues of James M. Cain's "The Moth".
