A romantic novel set in Canada between the Wars, mainly in Alberta. Lovat Dickson was born in New South Wales, but spent a great deal of time in Canada before settling in England to a publishing career. He is best remembered as the promoter and publisher of Grey Owl, the backwoodsman and conservationist, and for his fine biographies of Richard Hillary, H.G. Wells, and Radclyffe Hall.
