Some foxing spots on the edges and prelims, endpapers with some offsetting tanning from the jacket flaps, otherwise very good in good dustjacket, with some soiling, browning and a few small professionally restored chips (none affecting any lettering), with sterling price intact.

Besides the more famous (and lengthy) work, “The Dynasts” this was Hardy’s only venture into a poetic drama. Illustrated with a tissue-guarded frontispiece and one internal plate. An uncommon item in the original dustjacket which is plain lettered affair in contrast to the ornate green & gilt cloth binding.
